Sunita Williams, who has been training on a treadmill since at least 9 December 2006, plans to take a marathon-long run on 16 April, the day of the Boston Marathon, according to a story in New Scientist by Kelly Young. Commander Williams, who is from Needham in the Boston area, ran a BQ of 03:29:57 (she needed a 3:50) in January of 2006 at the Houston Marathon. The story is covered in many other sources, but check Jaclyn Fitzgerald’s story for the Boston Herald. An AP story reported that Commander Williams is registered for Boston, but I couldn’t find her bib number in the BAA data base of registrants.
