Wow! Bernard Lagat (USA; 13.45:87) won the men’s 5000, defeating Eliud Kipchoge (KEN; 13:46.00) and Moses Kpsiro (UGD; 13:46.75). Only two other men have ever won the 1500 and 5000 at this level of competition, and their names are known by everyone who follows track: Paavo Nurmi (1924) and Hicham El Guerrouj (2004).
Parker has a nice summary of the race, including the incredibly tight run for 3rd, with Mr. Kpsiro just edging Matthew Tegenkamp. The IAAF news covers it, too. See the full results. Check the marvelous head-on photo from the end of the race and the photo-finish, which is just plain amazing; I hope I can see some video soon.
