As someone who’s been recycling metals and glass since the early 1970s, I find great pleasure in seeing a resurgance in environmental advocacy among folks today. I’m especially pleased when I see sensible and connected groups such as contemporary musicians, whom some might consider thoughtless or careless, exerting leadership in the effort. So, I’m pleased to drop an entry here saying “hooray” for Reverb.
Deeply rooted within the music and environmental communities, Reverb educates and engages musicians and their fans to promote environmental sustainability.
Reverb is a non profit organization founded by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and her musician husband, Guster guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner.
Born from the success of Bonnie Raitt’s “Green Highway,” Reverb works closely with and is mentored by the ARIA Foundation founded in 1998 by Bonnie’s manager Kathy Kane.
Flash of the electrons for local guy Stefan Lessard, for his fund-raising efforts on behalf of Reverb. Link to the Reberb Web site.
