Thanks to CJ, another common-interest network appeared in my mailbox today. It’s about shopping. Although I shop in the sense of making purchases, I don’t often shop in the sense of going from place to place examining goods available for purchase. Still, when one buys, one has effects on the economy and I favor using my shopping to support local producers. Karen Beauford and Jessica Meehan, who put this shopping network together, call it “Locallectual” (clever, hunh?). To succeed, it’ll require many registrants and vendors from a wide area, which will (irony coming) allow folks to find local shopping sources. Visit Locallectual
